At my retirement almost twenty years ago, my co-workers gave me a West Highland Terrier puppy. I was so excited-just like a kid at Christmas. Living in Florida, my husband and I decided to move to Travelers Rest, closer to family. I quickly became a volunteer at Greenville Memorial Hospital with Child Life, I was told they were needing therapy dogs so Britster and I started practicing the skills to pass the ATD test. She passed and was great with the children and loved the reading program “We’re All Ears “
In 2009, after a knee replacement and being told I needed to start walking (Britster would go two houses and sit her butt down and let me know that was far enough) I got a Goldendoodle, Riley. Riley became a ATD therapy dog two years later. We have been visiting ever since. I wanted to give back by becoming a T/O and we love meeting all the new dog teams. And Riley loves walking and visiting. Come join us and start spreading JOY with your dog.
